  General Notes:

She was married to Markus Silberstein, one of the wealthiest industrialists in Lodz, owner of a large textile factory. They were married in Warsaw on September 7, 1865. Markus was born in Praszk/Bedzin district on March 19, 1833, and died in Nic e, France on March 3, 1899, but was buried in the Bracka Street cemetery in Lodz. His parents were Joachim Silberstein (d. 1885) and Adels Glucksman (Gliksman). Markus and Teresa were generous philanthropists in Lodz and Markus was involved wit h many societies and organizations. In 1884 Markus donated his collection of Jewish book to the Tlomackie Street Synagogue in Warsaw.

The Silbersteins were also patrons of the arts, and interested their children in the arts. They owned a collection of paintings and gave financial support to the Jewish painter Samuel Hirszenberg (1865-1908) and the Jewish architect Adolf Zeligso n (1867-1919). In 1894 they bought a country estate in Lisowice, near Brzeziny where Samuel Hirszenberg used to visit and paint landscapes. The palace on the property was rebuilt under the directoin of the Adolf Zeligson. He also designed man y buildings for the Silberstein family including their factory, a private home and their family tomb in the New Jewish Cemetery. Samuel Hirszenberg painted a full length portrait of Teresa Silberstein in 1902 which survives in th ePolsih Museum i n Rapperswil, Switzerland.

It's possible that Teresa marred again after Markus's death, because there is a marriage record of Teresa Zilbersztajn and Eliia Kopcow in 1904 in Lodz.

After the tragic death of her son Mieczyslaw in 1907, Teresa left Lodz and went to live on the family estate in Lisowice where she died. She was buried in Lodz with her husband in the large Silberstein family tomb.

Teresa married Markus Silberstein, son of Joachim Silberstein and Adela Glucksman (Gliksman), on Sep 7, 1865 in Warsaw, Warszawa, Warszawa, Poland. (Markus Silberstein was born on Mar 19, 1833 in Praszk/Bedzin Poland and died on Mar 3, 1899 in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France.)
