They lived in Krakow where Jan was active in the community and the progressive synagogue (synagoga tempel). Adela died in Vienna and her obituray, as "Ada Propper," appeared in the Neue Freie Presse on April 27, 1934, listing many of her relative s and their places of residence.

She also, apparently, translated some Polish literature into German, such as two works by Ferdynand Antoni Ossendowski (12976-1945): Japanische Erzahlungen (1924) and Schatten des dunklen Ostens: eing Stuck Sittensgeschichte des russischen Volke s [The Shadow of the Gloomy East: a MOral History of the Russian People] (1924); and a play by Karl Hubert Rostworowski (1877-1938) entitled Die Uberraschung: eine wahre Begebenheir in 4 Akten (1930).


Adela married Dr. Jan Albert Propper in 1885 in Lodz, Poland. (Dr. Jan Albert Propper was born in 1852.)
