Wealthy industrialist like his father. Also a supporter of the painter Samuel Hirszenberg. He died in 1907 during a strike (lockout) at the family's factory. He refused to pay the workers and to give in to their demands, and he was shot by on e of the workers. The Russian authorieties exectuted ten workers from teh factory and sent 127 workers to Chelyabinsk in the East Urals as punishment.
