On January three, eighteen hundred and sixty one at two o’clock in the
afternoon in the city of Mlawa, the Jew Ickiem Jakub [Yitzhak Yakov son
of Yehudah Ha-Levy] Tachna, a peddler, age thirty, residing in Mlawa,
arrived in the presence of Levin Szmulowicz Landau, age seventy three,
and Abram Bajlowicz, age forty nine, a teacher of students in Mlawa, and
presented a male child, born here in Mlawa on the first day of January,
eighteen hundred and sixty one of his wife Chany Lai [Channah Leah
daughter of Moshe Tzvi], age twenty eight, of the maiden name Cytryn
(Citrin). After the religious
ceremony the child was named Szymsia Alter [Shimon Alter son of Yitzhak
Yakov Ha-Levy]. This act was
read to the father and the witnesses and except for the father who could
not write, was signed by them. |
