It happened in the village of Zareby Koscielne on the eighth of January, eighteen hundred twenty seven at four o’clock in the afternoon.  The Jew Herszk [Tzvi] Tachna, residing in the village of Zaremby, age twenty two, earning his living as a scribe of Jewish Prayers [Torah Scribe], appeared in the presence of Jankiel Hazde, synagogue sexton, age fifty seven, and Jankiel Freyman, day laborer, age twenty, both of whom are witnesses residing in the village of Zareby Koscielne and showed us a child of male sex, born in Zareby Koscielne on the twenty eighth of December, eighteen hundred twenty six, at ten o’clock at night, to his wife Szeyna [Shayna daughter of Yisroel] Srulowna, age twenty, to whom at the circumcision was given the name Izrael [Yisroel son of Tzvi Ha-Levy].  This document was read to those who appeared and signed by Jankiel Hazde and the father, where as Jankiel Freyman cannot write.
