It happened in the village of Zareby Koscielne on the thirtieth of October, eighteen hundred twenty six at five o’clock in the afternoon. The Jew Lewko Berkowicz Tachna, age (unlegible), scribe of the Jewish Prayers [Torah Scribe], and Jankiel Hazde, synagogue sexton, age fifty six, both of whom are residing in the village of Zareby Koscielne, appeared and testified that on the twenty eighth of the current month at seven o’clock in the morning died Judka Tachna, scribe of the Jewish Commandments [Torah Scribe], age thirty two, son of Lewko [Laybe] and Sosia, married couple, both alive and residing in the village of Zareby Koscielne, and earning their living from the writing of the Jewish Commandments, leaving behind his wife Sora and three children.  After having convinced myself with my own eyes of the death of Judka Tachna, this document was read to and signed by the witnesses, of whom the first is the father.
