  General Notes:

On December 10, 1938, when he was 15, Guido was sent by his parents to England as part of the "Kindertransport." He lived for a year in Bournemouth in the rectory of a Catholic priest named Fr. Monaghan with about ten other refugee boys. After w ar was declared he was interned as an "enemy alien" in a camp in Huyton near Liverpoo and later on the Isle of Man. In July 1940 he was sent to Canada with other internees and he arrived in Canada on July 5, 1940. He lived at first in a camp i n New Brunswick and later he was in Camp A near Farnham, Quebec. He was released in December of 1941. He worked for the aircraft companies Dowty and DeHavilland.


Guido married Ellinore Elizabeth (Betty) Purdon, daughter of Henry (Harry) DeLacherois Purdon and Alice Elizabeth Griffin, on Oct 9, 1953 in Port Whitby, Ontario, Canada. (Ellinore Elizabeth (Betty) Purdon was born on Dec 6, 1923 in Belfast, Northern Ireland and died on Jun 24, 1996 in Ajax, Ontario, Canada.)
