He was born in Kempen (Kepno) in the Prussian Empire on April 21, 1839. When he was approximately ten years old the family moved to Warsaw, his father's home city. He attended the Warsaw School of Fine Arts. When he was a student he had a due l with a Russian officer and had to flee the country. He went to England where he lived in Manchester for abut ten years. He moved to Lemberg in 1866 to get married. Izydor was married to Laura (Lea) Thom, a daughter of Jozef and Taube Thom. T hey were married on May 3, 1866. Jozef Thom was a well-known mill owner in Lemberg.

After his marriage Izydor helped to finance an extension of the Karl Ludwig bahn (Railway) from Lemberg to Brody (This railway up until that time only went from Krakow to Lemberg.). An obituary describes him as "one of the concessionaires of th e Karl Ludwig Bahn." After that he owned a private bank in Lemberg. He was the author of a brochure/pamphlet entitled: "Project zur Herstellung eines Normalzustandes auf dem Effecten und Geldmarkt, wie auch zur Theilung der noch gesunden Bank I nstitute" (Lemberg, 1973). Izydor died on July 18, 1884 in Lemberg, and Laura died on November 16, 1916 in Budapest. Izydor and Laura had seven children.


Isaac married Laura (Lea) Thom.
