Her birth record just gives her name as Haia. married to Rabbi Dawid Ber Meyzler (Meisels) on July 1, 1832 in Warsaw. According to the marriage record Chaia Jenta's age was 15 years and 8 months, and Dawid Ber was 19. Dawid Ber's father was Rab bi Jakub Leible Meyzler (Meisels) (ABD of Zamosc, Piotrkow and Kulikow), and his mother was Dwoyra, daughter of Lewek. Chaia Jenta died in Lask sometime after her father Rabbi Elazar moved to Plock (therefore after 1856).

After Chaia Jenta died her sister Sheindel (Hadas) married Rabbi Dawid Ber Meisels. But Chaia Jenta was the mother of all of the children of Rabbi Dawid Ber Meisels.

Rabbi Dawid Ber Meyzler (Meisels) was married to two of the daughters of Rabbi Eleazar Cohn (son of Wolf Michel Cohn and Sora Rochel née Cohn): Chaia Jenta and Sheindal Hadas. His first wife was Chaia Jenta. They were married on July 1, 1832 i n Warsaw. Chaia Jenta died in Lask, on 16 Iyar 5616 [May 21, 1856]. After Chaia Jenta’s death Rabbi Dawid Ber Meyzler married Sheindal Hadas her sister. But Chaia Jenta was the mother of all the children of Rabbi Dawid Ber.

Dawid Ber Meyzler (Meisels) was born in Kulików, according to the book Ir Lask ve-Hakhameha. (However, according to his marriage record with Chaia Jenta in 1832 he was born in Bilgoraj). Dawid Ber was the Rabbi (ABD) of Dobra at age 18, later AB D of Nasielsk and finally ABD of Lask from 1851 until his death. He died on 9 Kislev 5636 [Dec. 7, 1875] at the age of 62. He was the author of Ahavat David (1884); Hiddushei ha-Radad (1891); She’elot u-Teshuvot ha-Radad (1903); and Binyan Davi d (1913), Or David; Reiach Dudaim; and Tiferet David.

The surname Meisels (Meyzler) can also be spelled Meisles and Meislish.

MEISELS, DAVID DOV (1814-1876), Polish rabbi. Meisels was the son of Aryeh Judah Jacob who served as av bet din of Piotrkow and Kilatow. He was known in his youth as a prodigy (illui). He was appointed av bet din of Dobra at the age of 18 and late r served in the same capacity at Nasielsk. From 1851 until his death he was rabbi of Lask. He was regarded as one of the outstanding talmudists of his generation and gained the deep respect of the ḥasidic rabbi of Gur, Isaac Meir, author of the Ḥi ddushei ha-Rim. Meisels' important works, published by his sons, are Ahavat David, on the laws of invalid witnesses (1884); Ḥiddushei ha-Radad, novellae on tractate Pesaḥim (1891); She'elot u-Teshuvot ha-Radad, responsa on Oraḥ Ḥayyim and Even ha- Ezer (1903); and Binyan David, on the Book of Lamentations (1913). Of his sons, jacob, author of the Toledot Ya'akov, succeeded his father as rabbi of Lask; phinehas elijah served as rabbi of Rakov and ze'ev wolf was a distinguished Ḥasid at Tarno w.
