General Notes: Accordding to Yosef Bosci Ida (nee Hoffman) Jonas was a tender, noble, and extremely good hearted person who had the attribute of kindness. During World War Two, she and Yosef Bosci were int he ghetto together and Ida gave Yosef Bosci her piece o f bread. He didn't want ot deprive Ida of her food, but she insisted because, "You're young and you need to eat." She used to send food to poor people and a sister of hers (Fannie. Yiddish: Hendel) who became needy and Ida would provide her w ith cheese and butter (among other things) which apparently were considered luxury items at that time. Ida would pick strawberries that grew in the forest. Yosef bosci relates that these strawberries were very delicious). Ida would distribute t he picked strawberries amongst the poor. Noted events in her life were: • Alt. Birth, 1874. 2 Vezeror Lastomer, Hungary Ida married Morris Izik Jonas, son of Aaron Aryeh Laybe Jonas and Eszter Mezei. (Morris Izik Jonas was born in 1871 in Hungary 1,2,3 and died on Jun 10, 1933 in Hungary 1,2,3.) |
