It took place in the city of Nur, on February fourteenth / February twenty sixth, eighteen sixty one, at nine o’clock in the morning.  Boruch Abramowicz Tachna, a Jew, age thrity three years old, a shoemaker in the city of Nur, have appeared with Sana Chunowicz Kur, a Jew, age thirty three years old, and Chuna Matysowicz Gołąb, a Jew, age twenty four years old, both shoemakers in the city of Nur.  He showed us a baby boy who was born in the city of Nur, on February seventh / February nineteenth, eighteen sixty one, at eight o’clock in the evening to his wife Sóra Chunowna Kur, age thirty seven years old. During the circumcision ceremony the baby was named Mendel.  This document was read to testifiers and signed by a clerk of the registry office because all testifiers are illiterate.
