His name is mentioned in some 19th century German periodicals in connection with the company of Itzig W. M. Cohn in Breslau. In an 1862 periodical (Sammlung der deutschen Handeeels-Register) under the headings "Breslau" and "Procurren" [powers o f attorney] it states: "Itzig W. M. Cohn zu Braslau. Coll-Proc.: Albert Cohn und Sussman Freyhan (18 Sept.)."

In later periodicals, beginning in 1863, Albert Cohn is listed as in charge of the subsidiary [Zweigniederlassung] of the company Itzig W. M. Cohn in Thorn.
