Cohn, Abel [Avraham Abele]

  General Notes:

He was married to Jenta Kahana on January 5, 1827 in Warsaw (marriage registered on June 16, 1829). Jenta Kahana was born circa 1808 in Brody, Galicia, and was a daughter of Chaim Abraham Kahana, a merchant in Brody, and Estera a daughter of Bere k. Jenta died on June 10, 1832, age 22, and was buried in the Warsaw Jewish Cemetery (sector 9, row 2, number 13). On her tombstone it says her father is from Brody and that she had only one child.

Abel married again and his second wife was Rebecca Rappaport, daughter of Joseph Hirsch Rappaport of Lwow. Abel and Rebecca lived in Zurawno, Galicia. In the donors' list of the book Limudei Hateva (1837) Abel is listed as Abeli ZW'M Cohn from W arsaw, living in Zurawno.
