He used the surname Aszkenazy. He was a scholar, although not a rabbi, in Tarnów. He published some of his father’s works. He was married to Achsa Guter. They had at least 7 children: David Dov Berish, Yaakov, Chaia Jenta [Helena], Sara Taube , Shlomo Zalman, Lazar and Mirla Dwora:
