Jonas, Milton (Mike) ^1,2,9

  General Notes:

I was born in Chicago, Cook Co., IL. I remember going by Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary's house, this is were my grandmothers family would meet to get together with all their familles... My Grandmother (Frieda Bernath Wartenberg) came to American with h er sister abt 1915, Teresa (Rose) Bernath Mervis, another sister Esther Bernath Baum joined them abt 1920 they all settled in Chicago, IL..Mariam ( Mary) Bernath Jonas came to be with her sisters in 1921, abt 1923 met Milton (Mike) at a social c lub for the young Jewish people in the area..they married on 14 June, 1924 Frieda, Rose , Esther and Mary were very close, they were always visiting back and forth...
I am excited abt finding a Jonas connection ... after my Grandmother passed (1953) away..the sisters moved away... Aunt Rose and her husband Morris Mervis to Cleveland Ohio, Esther died in 1941, Aunt Mary and Uncle Mike to Palo Alto, CA. and soo n lost direct track of them... they kept in touch with my Uncle Leo, and he in turn would keep my Mom updated ... now they are both gone know Pearl Rita passed away in 1993...
Aunt Mary and Uncle Mike are buried by my Grandparents I have a photo of their Headstone ... they were buried in Waldheim Jewish Cemetery, Forest Park, Cook Co., Il.

Milton married Miriam (Mary) Bernath, daughter of David Bernath and Sarolta (Charlotte) Mihali, on Jun 14, 1924 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, USA.² (Miriam (Mary) Bernath was born on Dec 15, 1904 in Deda Besztra, Hungary,^1,2,9 died in Feb 1992 in Palo Alto, San Mateo, California, USA and was buried in Waldheim Cemetery, Forest Park, Cook Co., Illinois, USA.)
