Clayton was born on May 30, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan and spent much of his childhood in Windsor, Ontario where, as he told his grandchildren, he would hitch a ride on the back of a milk truck to get to school. He had every job you could ever imag ine from shoe salesman to model to grocery store security. He eventually found his passion working with his father-in-law, Simon Ash, selling gear cutting tools at Ash Gear. He built up Ash Gear leaving a legacy for his son and grandson who have n ow taken the helm. In his free time, he could be found spending time with family and friends or fixing something around the house.
