Zofia was a teacher of Polish at the Gymansium and Lyceum (High School) for Girls in Lodz. A former student at the school during World War II, Salomea Klasia [Sara Rywka] Herszenberg (married name Kape), mentions Mrs. Zofia Prechner in some of he r recollections of the school, which had been combined with all the Jewish schools for girls. Salomea quotes her mother, who also had Zofia Prechner as her Polsih teacher. She describes her as "a grand dame of Lodz's high society,, the elegantl y dressed wife of a well known physician: and says how indebted to her she was. This information comes from the website, "Children of the Lodz Ghetto, a Memorial Research Project of the United States Holocaust Memorial Musueum."
