Her relative Jolanta Szaban submitted a page of testimony about her to Yad Vashem. She was living in Gainesville, Florida when she submitted it and she wrote in English. Helena nee Lichtenfeld was maried to Henryk Gelbard. She was living at Uli ca Piusa 5 in Warsaw when he was killed. For the circumstances of her death Jolanta wrote: "Shot by gendarmes in her apartment, after her daughter, Halina, jumped form the window." For relationship she wrote: "She was my mother's aunt."

Jolanta Szaban also submitted a page of testimony for Ludwik Gelbard (b. 1882). He was a dentist, living Chelm before the war and in Rowne during the war. He died somewhere in Russia in a prisoner of war camp. For relationship t othe deceased J olanta wrote: "He was my grandfatehr." Presumably he was a brother of Henryk Gelbard, and thus Helena nee Lichtenfeld Gelbard was Jolanta's aunt by marriage.

Another relative, Wladyslaw Iwaszczukiewicz, also submitted a page of testimony for Helena Gelbard. He submitted it on July 15, 1997. He was living in Radom, Poland and wrote in Polish. According to him Helena was born on April 17, 1883 and die d on February 4, 1944. For the circumstances of her death he wrote: "Zastrzelona przez niemieckich zandarmow w swym mieszkaniu" [Shot to death by German gendarmes in her apartment]. He gave her address as "Ulica Piekna." For his relationshi p to Helena he wrote: "Bylem bratankiem jej meza" [I was the nephew of her husband].


Jelena married Henryk Gelbard.
