  General Notes:

He was the eldest son of Fiszel Moskowicz Cohn and Golda. He was born circa 1782, but we don't know if he was born in warsaw. This date is derived from his age in various vital records. He often acted as the person registering the births of oth er members of the Cohn family. In these records his occupation is usually "collector of a lottery: or "sub-collector of a lottery." In the database he is Moshe, son of Efraim Hacohen, but no further information is given. His tombstone is all i n Hebrew.

Mosiek was married to Szyfra nee Tarler. Her date of death taken from her death record. Szyfra was a daughter of Lewek and Chaia daughter of Josek. She died from cholera. Her maiden nam of Tarler comes from the inscription on her tombstone. I n the database she is listed as Shifra Kohn; father's name Leibush; husband's name Moshe; maiden name Taller (although this is a mistake since the letter "raish" was mistaken for the letter "lamed"); date of death: Aug 24, 1852.

According to teh death record of Szyfra Cohn, her surviving children at the time of her death (Aug. 23, 1852) were: "Sura Rywka, Abram, Hinda, Szlama, Hil, and Hana." But they also had two more children (Laja Matla and Beniamin Wolf).

Noted events in his life were:

• Hebrew name: Moshe Ha-Cohen.

Mosiek married Szyfra Tarler, daughter of Lewek Tarler and Chaia. (Szyfra Tarler was born about 1789 in Warszawa, Russian Empire, Poland, died on Aug 23, 1852 in Warszawa, Russian Empire, Poland and was buried in Warsaw Jewish Cemetery sector 5, row 3, number 26.)
