General Notes:
His proffession was as a merchant who did wholesale distribution of glass, porcelin, and stoneware. He founded his business in 1893. He also served as a member of the board of the Jewish congregation, or commissioner of the synogogue.
His original residence was at 21 Lohrstr but during the Holocaust he was kicked out and deported to segregated housing at Jh Humboldstr. 9. He was deported to Theresenstadt on September 9, 1942; one of 440 people deported from Leipzig, Germany . Of those 440 people, only 53 of them survived - including his wife. Amongst those original 440 deported, 154 were men, 280 were women, and 6 were children. In the Theresenstadt ghetto he was given the job of purchaser. As stated, his wife was also deported to Theresenstadt but survived. She later immigrated to Guatemala and then the United States. His daughters followed followed her.
