He was the second Rabbi (ABD) of Zgierz, from the years 1878-1896 (5638-5657). His wife's name was Sara Bluma (Blima) daughter of Leibe (Lewin) Kahana, known as Leibel Dem Rebis. They married in 1845 in Ciechanow (JRI-Poland) and Tzvi Hersz live d there before he lived in Zgierz.

He was the Av Beis Din of Pultusk and Zager.
