General Notes: Wife - Regina Ryfka Cohn

She was married to Antoni (Aron) Rosenberg, a merchant (b. circa 1827). (There is an Antoni Rosenberg buried in Krakow (died 1894) but it is not known if it is the same person).

Regina's date and place of death, and Hebrew name are taken from a database (Juden im Deutschen Reich) found on the website "Genealogy.net" of the organization "Verein fur Computergenealogie." She is listed in this database as: Regina Cohn, au s Warschau [from Warsaw], who died on August 23, 1905 at the age of 73, a widow. Her parents' names are given as "David," whose occupation is "Kaufman" [business/merchant] and "Scheinler." In connection with her there is a "Knabe" [boy] listed , presumably they mean her son named "Ryfkavel," but this must be a mistake. What is more likely is that this is her Hebrew name "Ryfka" with the Latin word "vel" [and] joined to it. So we can deduce that her Hebrew name was Ryfka. The name o f her mother "Scheinler" must be Szjana. Probably the handwriting was hard to read for whoever entered teh information into the database. However, her only surname is Cohn, with no mention of Rosenberg. At the time of her death Kolberg was in P russia, today it is in Poland, known as Kolobrzeg.

The person who reported her death was Julian Cohn, a lawyer from Warsaw. He is buried in the Warsaw Jewish Cemetery beside his wife. His wife's name is Eugenja died on Dec. 26, 1919. A reasonable guess would be that Eugenia nee Rosenberg wa s a daughter of Regina Ryfka nee Cohn and Antoni Rosenberg, and that Julian Cohn was Regina's son-in-law. Their tombstone also contains the names of the following people (inscribed later on symbolically): the lawyer Kazimierz Cohn, the lawyer Mi chal Cohn and his wife the lawyer Roza z Galisow Cohn and Alfred Cohn.
