In 1315 Héliot is named "a banker from Vesoul" and is one of the Jewis h syndics of the Langue d'Oïl who, together with Poncin de Bar, Joce d e Pontoise, Cressent de Corbeil, and Morel d'Amboise, negotiated for t he return of the Jews expelled from France by Philip the Fair. In 132 1 Jews were expelled from Vesoul and Philip V the Tall, gave his wife , Queen Jeanne, the estate of Héliot and of his son Vivant as well a s the property of other Jews of the county of Burgundy. In 1324 Margue rite de Lambrez, one of the queen's ladies of the bedchamber, was allo tted Héliot's house. In 1360 Manecier or Menessier of Vesoul, enjoye d the special favor of Charles V whom he induced to permit the Jews t o return to France.
