She was married to Maksymilian (Markus) Rubinstein (b. circa 1818, Plock) on December 24, 1843 in Warsaw. Maksymilian Rubinstein was a son of Rabbi Ezryel Rubinstein, and Laia Sottenberg (daughter of Szmul Maier Sottenberg and Malka, daughter o f Eliezer). Dorota and her sister Ewa were both involved in charitable societies for orphans in Warsaw.
Maksylmilian Rubinstein was a graduate of the Rabbinic School [Szkola Rabinow] in Warsaw. He worked as a translator for the newspaper Gazeta Warszawska (under the editor Krupski) and co-editor of the Kuryer Warszaawski (under the editor Dmowski ) at the time of his marriage. He was the author of some original writings and translations published in two volumes in 1841 under the title Pisma ulotne. Later he was a senior sworn agent for the Warsaw exchange and represented many foreign ins urance companies. He owned a house at number 2239 on Nalewki Street. Between the years 1853 and 1861 he applied for the privilege of "Favored Citizen" as Dawid Cohn had also done.
Maksymilian Rubinstein's mother married a second time on April 30, 1827 in Warsaw. Her second husband was Jozef Glucksohn (son of Israel Leybel Glucksohn and Szaindla daughter of Rafal). Jozef Glucksohn was a brother of Rafal Glucksohn who was M athias Cohn's business parter.
