It happened
in the town of Mlawa on the twenty sixth day of July in the year
nineteen hundred and two at ten o’clock in the morning.
Josek [Yosef son of Yitzhak Yakov Ha-Levy] Tachna, age twenty
eight, shop-keeper, residing in the town of Mlawa, appeared in the
presence of the witnesses Moszek Ber Zagon, age sixty, and Wulek
Wilczek, age sixty five, both of whom residing in the town of Mlawa, and
showed us a child of the male gender, declaring that it was born in the
town of Mlawa on the nineteenth of July of the current year at five
o’clock in the morning to his wedded wife Ruchla [Channah Ruchle
daughter of Moshe Ahron] née Nurek, age twenty eight.
The child was given the names Abram Hersz [Avram Tzvi son of
Yitzhak Yakov Ha-Levy]. This document was read to the testifier and the
witnesses, signed by us and them, the father is illiterate.
