English translation:
It happened in the town of Mlawa on the
twentieth of October, eighteen hundred and eighty three at four o’clock
in the afternoon. Icek Jankief Tachna, trader, age thirty eight,
residing in the town of Mlawa, appeared in the presence of the witnesses
Kalman Zachariasz Rozenman, house owner, age sixty five, and Abram
Moszek Etynger, synagogue sexton, age sixty one, both of whom residing
in the town of Mlawa, and presented us a child of female gender that was
born in the town of Mlawa on the fifteenth of March of the current year
at three o’clock in the afternoon, stating that it was begotten by Icek
Lejb Tachna, skin / leather dealer*, age thirty eight, residing in the
town of Mlawa, not personally present at the drawing up of this document
because being abroad, and his wedded wife Brana Laja née Landau, age
thirty six. This child was given the name Zysa Mariem. This document was
read aloud and signed by the ones present.
