It happened in the chambers of the Mayor of the town of Mordy on the twenty ninth of March, eighteen hundred and fifty nine at ten o’clock in the morning. The Jew Moszko Judkowicz Tachno, age thirty six, apprentice tanner, permanently residing in the town of Sokolów [Sokołów] and temporarily staying in the town of Mordy, appeared in the presence of the witnesses, the Jews Leybko Gruszka, age fifty seven, and Faywel Goldfarb, age fifty four, both of whom synagogue sextons residing in the town of Mordy, and showed us a child of female gender that was born on the twenty fourth of the current month and year at five o’clock in the morning to his wedded wife Golda z Wolfowiczów, age thirty five, to whom at the religious ceremony that took place today was given the name Sura. This document was read to the father and the witnesses and signed by them besides of the father who cannot write.
